Chiquita Fined $25 Million by U.S. Government

Chiquita Brands International has been fined $25 million for hiring a Colombian terrorist group to protect its workers in a volatile Colombian farming region.  Chiquita employed the services of the AUC (United Self-Defense Forces of Colombia), which has been responsible for horrific massacres in Colombia and also is involved with a large percentage of the country’s cocaine exports.  The group was designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government in 2001.  Chiquita didn’t stop there though.  They also employed the services of the FARC which is the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia.  Chiquita has since sold is Colombian banana operations.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if they found out they were smuggling cocaine in the bananas?

My dear American's, it is with a great and heavy heart that I have to admit to helping fund terrorism with all the banana splits and banana cream pies that I have enjoyed over the years.  I will do my best to correct this error by doubling my efforts to eat something more wholesome and American, like apple pie Laughing.
