NYC Mayor Bloomberg is urging New Yorkers to boycott a Chinese restaurant in Chinatown for allegedly charging non-Chinese customers more for their meals. The city Human Rights Commission is currently investigating the matter and has filed a complaint against the restaurant claiming that the restaurant has two versions of their menu, one in Chinese and one in English. The prices written on the Chinese menu are nearly $1 cheaper than than the English version. The restaurant owners claim they have one menu for takeout and another for customers who eat in the restaurant, which could account for the price discrepancies. The name of the restaurant in question has not been released.

Well, I don't really care about the one dollar.
I am more annoyed that, a lot of times, the 'english menu' is a generic version that often leaves out some of the more interesting items you may find on the chinese menu.

I've never looked that closely at my bill to notice that there might be a couple of dollars difference. Who's checking the menu differences?? I go for the food.
