Do you like to fondle potatoes? No? Well, do you at least hate to peel them? I came across TaterMitts.com where you can buy bright blue gloves that are supposed to be able to peel potatoes just by having your rub your gloved fingers on the spuds. Its biggest selling points are that it’s a SAFE way to peel potatoes without sharp blades (I hear there’s a growing epidemic of potato peeling accidents), it’s “effortless,” and well, they prey upon the fact that everyone in the kitchen wishes they had an assistant (or child) to do all their dirty work like peeling.
I wonder if you can forgo using kitchen utensils all together and wash, peel, and mash potatoes entirely with your hands. Any takers? - Posted Aug 4, 2007 by themagster | 2 Comments | Share It

I love the idea of these gloves. I HATE peeling potatoes more than anything, and as SousChef it's always my job... My hands always feel like chalky parchment when I'm done.

I want a pair! These would be so handy when making mashed potatoes. I absolutely love mashed potatoes but one of my least favorite parts of making them is the peeling of the skin... and maybe the mashing of the potatoes. But I guess these gloves helps with at least one part of the process - neat!
