Even if it makes the pee smell, you have to admit it tastes damn good.

This is what I made for lunch. It was so good that I just HAD to take a photo of it. Now, I'm not one for recipes but I'll give you a basic idea... Fettucine and asparagus boiled in the same pot (gives the pasta the most delish flavor) then add olive oil, pasta water, fresh chopped tomatoes, feta, goat cheese, pinenuts, herbs and salt and pepper. Simple. And yet... divine.
Eating this way for lunch is magical for me and one of my favorite things about working from home. It sends me to Italy, even if just for 30 minutes, and not just because "Cucina Italia" is written on the bottom of my pasta bowls. It takes me back to the Med, to the seaside cafes where I sat and ate, drank wine, and felt the mist of the surf against my face. It brings back so many memories from my time there that I cherish as much as I cherish the food itself.
Viva Italia.

I work for the family real estate business doing marketing, PR, and advertising, but the job is in a different city. I stay with my parents during part of each week so I can be here for appointments, etc. without having to pay rent at two places. This is all fine and great except for one huge contentious issue - food. I love food. My brother loves food. My parents could really care less. The enourmous difference between spaghetti and Ragu and a really great pesto is just something they don't understand. Because of this, I think they could eat cheap takeout for the rest of their lives and be perfectly content.
Now, I'm not trying to diss takeout by any means, but how many times can you eat orange chicken before you throw up or gain a million pounds? I'm sick of Chinese food. Sick of it. Someone give me my kitchen...please?
