they say you can't judge a book by it's cover but if we're talking about z's bar and grill... why the hell not?!

exterior reminds you of the many french bistro-esque restaurants here in the city, but smaller. the music is very enya meets sharam tayebi, basically the environment was something you wouldn't expect from a family owned restaurant. now THAT is miami.

it was basically me & the boyfriend and another couple that ate there. not a busy day so the owner personally served us & the food was prepared exclusively compared to a hectic day where food presentation would be subpar. freshly chopped beet salad with goat cheese was very filling. bread was warm, basically taken right out of the oven before served. homemade minestrone was DELICIOUS. crabcakes tasted JUST as good as it's presentation. steak was prepared with a "secret sauce" .. it looked like olive oil and vinaigrette but it didn't matter, it topped any steak i've tasted. his breadpudding...BREADPUDDING. GOD.

i'm hungry again.

basically, if you go to miami, i highly suggest this restaurant. heck, why not go to miami JUST for this restaurant ha.
